Fifteen Years of Mixed and Specialist Practice

Valley Veterinary was established by Stephen (Stevie) O’Connor, an RCVS recognized Advanced Veterinary Practitioner whose career extends from mixed practice in Cork to the racecourses of Doha and Hong Kong including Sha Tin, Happy Valley and Al Rayyan. He spent seven years with the Hong Kong Jockey Club as a Senior Racing Veterinary Surgeon and Performance Analyst at Sha Tin and Happy Valley, and has returned to West Cork with his wife Marie and their young family to found Valley Veterinary.

Locally, he worked with the late, highly respected Bandon veterinary surgeon Joe McLaughlin MRCVS for a number of years before departing for Hong Kong to accumulate unique Equine veterinary expertise. He also previously worked locally as a mixed animal Veterinary Practitioner with Riverview Veterinary Group earlier in his veterinary career. So, it is with many memories and great excitement that Stevie will be returning to the yards and farms in the locality that he has already worked in previously.
